Elevate Sports were selected to support the URC/BKT develop a new community sports Power Zone facility for Kenfig Hill RFC.
Drawing on the long standing expertise of Elevate Sports, the project team sought responsibility for the development of an appropriate scope of works to ensure the ground and base works were delivered in accordance with recognised industry standards.
As an integral part of the project team, representing the URC/BKT, Elevate Sports worked with club representatives and specialist contractors to ensure a successful project outcome.
"Jason, we wanted to say a massive thanks to you for all your work on the Power Zone – we truly couldn’t have done it without you!
We had an amazing launch event yesterday with loads of people from around Kenfig, the URC team as well as our BKT clients all the way from Italy"
Mike Scott, Project Manager, Havas Play
Working in partnership with Phil Greenaway Consultancy Ltd (PGC), Elevate Sports were commissioned by Cinderford RFC to provide specialist sports facility consultancy services.
The club had long-planned to improve the facilities at their Beavis Memorial Ground and phase 1 of the development is the conversion of the stadium match pitch to a new Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP).
The new AGP will comply with the World Rugby (WR) regulation 22 requirements for such pitches to ensure optimum safety and performance for the players. In collaboration with PGC, an initial design brief was developed along with a considered development strategy to ensure the club gets exactly what it wants and needs.
Further, planning support was added, a select list of capable contractors were shortlisted, tender enquiries issued and assessed, interviews conducted and a preferred contractor partner appointed.
Ongoing support to the club through the contractor appointment phase, and site progress meetings are all part of the services offered.
Many sports clubs I know would describe themselves as asset rich. They would also describe themselves as cash poor. Therefore the development of new and improved facilities for their club is often hamstrung by the lack of available finances of their own and an over-reliance on grants from Sports Governing Bodies and others.
Elevate Sports is working with sports clubs across the country to rethink the way sports club estates are developed and managed to bring much needed capital where it is needed most.

Significant capital receipts are to be generated for sports clubs with our unique model, capital with which to reinvest in their existing site or relocate to larger and higher quality facilities.
One example is a rugby club where a traditional housing developer had offered the club £1.2M for their land in a relocation deal. With our model we are able to offer £5M for the same parcel of land and superior club facilities upon relocation. This positively influences the scale, specification and quantity of new facilities this club can now enjoy.

We are not hard-nosed developers. We are fresh thinkers with the right partners to work with you to help secure a future for your club which could change your club's game forever.
Padel in the UK
Padel is rapidly gaining popularity across the UK, following its success in Europe and beyond. And rightly so - it's a great sport. The appeal lies in its accessibility, social nature, and fast-paced gameplay, attracting players of all ages and abilities. With increasing demand, clubs and operators are looking to invest in high-quality facilities to support this growing sport.
Designing for the UK Climate
Given the UK’s varied weather conditions, well-designed and appropriately engineered Padel courts are essential for long-term performance.
Factors such as wind exposure, coastal locations, drainage, ground conditions, and a canopy/building structure to cover the courts must be carefully considered to ensure year-round playability. Investing in high-quality materials and construction techniques helps maximise court lifespan while enhancing player experience and safety.
The Value of Feasibility, Expert Design & Professional Installation
A successful Padel facility starts with a thorough feasibility study, ensuring the right location, funding strategy, and operational model.
Expert support is key to long term success. We're seeing a rush of padel court supplier 'middlemen' capitalising on the trend but who, whilst enthusiastic, are neither experts in the sport nor qualified in the ground engineering and court fabrication considerations required for a successful facility in the UK. Courts manufactured on a production line in an overseas country, for a climate vastly different to the UK, must be adapted to suit the UK market to ensure long term performance and safety.
Moving It Forwards
Elevate Sports can provide a safe pair of hands for your Padel project.
We'll not gamble with your hard earned funds and club's reputation by assuring you of a facility's success - unless we've secured intelligent, current and relevant data to inform us. We'll not rush to the cheapest supplier, promising guaranteed and attractive returns every year for the next 15-years. How could anyone know? Padel is only a c3-4year old infant in this country!
Instead we offer a safe and considered pair of hands to explore the opportunity, identify the risks and if all is viable, select the best long-term solution for you to meet the identified demand and de-risk your return on investment.
And, it's the UK. It's going to rain! You need a full canopy for your courts or to build indoors to guarantee any sensible, thought-through business model. We can help here too.
